Although Health Canada did not make the rollout of the cannabis 2.0 market as seamless as possible, we believe that some of the big issues with the program have been fixed. Even though we like to blame Health Canada for many of the issues with the cannabis market, much of the blame can be put on the companies. For example, HEXO Corp. (HEXO.TO) (HEXO) was expected to be a leader in the cannabis 2.0 market due to the strategic relationship that it has with Molson Coors (TAP.CN).
After more than 18 months, the HEXO and Coors partnership seems to be gaining traction and this is a development that we are closely following. During the last year, HEXO has been under substantial pressure and we believe that the relationship with Coors could prove to be the catalyst that the Canadian cannabis producer needed.
